British e-scooter brand Pure Electric is inviting e-mobility enthusiasts to participate in a new crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube.

After securing over £5 million from high net worth individuals, Pure is now seeking to raise up to £2 million from community investors.

Owner of the business Adam Norris, a successful entrepreneur who previously ran the pensions business at Bristol-based wealth manager Hargreaves Lansdown, has already invested £60 million of his own money into the business, which turned over in excess of £20 million in its last financial year.

“I truly believe we can build a bigger company than Dyson,” Norris told Zag Daily. “We’ve already had 2.5 million of pledges from people at Crowdcube but it doesn’t go live for a few more days. This is the second crowdfund we’ve done and we’re super excited about it.”

Pure’s flagship products include the Pure Advance Flex which features two foot plates to create a forward-facing riding stance and a foldable chassis. In May, Pure announced a new partnership with F1 team McLaren to release a special edition e-scooter that sold out in just 90 minutes.

“There are 4.4 billion people living in cities where urban transport is expensive, polluting, and inconvenient. Our beautiful and innovative products are a crucial component of the broader e-mobility revolution, offering a sustainable and fun solution to urban congestion and pollution.”

Norris recently told us that Pure is now in 800 retail outlets globally, including Curry’s, Halfords and FNAC as it adopts a distributor-first model.

Since the company was founded in 2018, Pure has now sold more than 285,000 scooters.
