Swiss micromobility manufacturer Micro has unveiled its summer microcar cabriolet at the Paris Motor Show.

The Microlino Spiaggina is an L7e vehicle combining the aesthetics of a beach car with the functional capabilities of a modern everyday electric vehicle.

Scheduled for launch in 2025, one use that Micro envisions for the Spiaggina is as a rental vehicle offered by hotels in summer destinations across Europe and the US.

“Offering the Microlino Spiaggina at hotels in summer hotspots enhances guest experience by providing convenient, stylish, and eco-friendly mobility,” Microlino Co-Founder Merlin Ouboter told Zag Daily.

“Its compact design allows guests to explore local attractions with ease, aligning with the trend of sustainable travel. The unique aesthetic and open-air driving experience create a memorable and premium feel, setting hotels apart from competitors and fostering guest loyalty.”

Hotel guests would be able to book the microcar like they book a room. This concept means hotels wouldn’t need to use external car services but could keep the vehicle on-site and charged using a standard household socket.

Building on the classic Microlino, the Microlino Spiaggina has a range of 177 kilometres and can reach a top speed of 90 kilometres per hour. It has a 12.5kW motor output and 230-litre trunk capacity as well as a fully removable hardtop to transform the vehicle into a convertible.

The First Edition of the Microlino Spiaggina will be delivered from next Spring and is offered in two colour variants: Portofino Blue and Sardinia Sage. Its interior is made from vegan leather designed to be resistant to moisture.

“The Microlino Spiaggina is the ideal summer vehicle for places like the south of France, the Greek islands or the Amalfi coast,” Merlin said. “It’s for summer destinations where space is limited but visitors still like to stand out of the crowd with a fancy vehicle.”

Micro is also giving a preview of its ‘Microlino Custom Program’ at the Paris Motor Show which will allow customers to personalise their Microlino and choose their preferred exterior colour for the roof, body, trim line and wheel caps.

The reveal of the Microlino Spiaggina’s production version comes after Micro debuted its Microlino Lite at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year.

Customers can apply to the company’s online waiting list today, and the starting price for the First Edition of the Microlino Spiaggina is €24,990.
