The eSkootr Championship (eSC) has revealed that SICK! Series Racing is the latest team to enter the 2022 season.
SICK! Series is the clothing brand created by Austrian mountain biker Fabio Wibmer.
Fabio is best known for his viral video edits. He has more than 7 million subscribers to his YouTube channel and his videos have garnered over a billion views.
The Red Bull sponsored athlete will be SICK! Series Racing Team Owner and will play a major role in the promotion of his eSC team.
He will also work with eSC to showcase the positive impact eSkootrs can have on everyday micromobility.
“I am passionate about creating engaging and compelling content that offers viewers something different and pushes boundaries,” said Fabio. “The racing is completely new and I’m excited to see the series evolve over the coming seasons. The Championship’s fan-first focus and forward-thinking plans for the viewing experience are why it’s so great to be part of this new sport.”
eSkootr Championship Co-founder and COO Khalil Beschir added: “Fabio is one of the world’s leading sports content creators. It is incredibly impressive how he has established such a strong and engaged following through his creative and innovative videography, and we are excited to work with him as we build eSC’s fanbase.
“SICK! Series Racing will be an extension of his SICK! Series clothing brand, and will join our nine other teams for the first race at Printworks London on 13/14 May.”
Coverage of the inaugural season will be shown live on BBC iPlayer and BBC Sport digital platforms.
