Belgian e-bike maker Cowboy has launched an On-Demand maintenance service allowing customers to request one-off bike repairs from the comfort of their home by a team of mobile mechanics.
A range of repair services can be requested via the Cowboy app including maintenance packages, tyre puncture fixes, bike set-up, rear rack and child seat installation.
This complements Cowboy’s fast-growing network of independent bike store partners, as well as its monthly maintenance and repair subscription service dubbed Cowboy Care.
“It’s imperative that customers feel confident that when they invest in a Cowboy e-bike, they can service and maintain it at a time and place most convenient for them,” Cowboy Co-Founder and CTO Tanguy Goretti told Zag Daily.
The launch follows a successful pilot of the On-Demand service which Cowboy trialled in key European cities throughout the winter to ensure its reliability.
The On-Demand service starts at £69 and is available in cities including Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, and Luxembourg.
Cowboy has also built a regional service network with independent bike dealers (IBDs) to increase access to repair services by enabling customers to visit these local bike retailers.
Founded in 2017, the company currently partners with more than 175 independent, local bike dealers across Europe – which deliver over half of repairs made – and aims to increase this number to 1000 by 2025.
“A pre-existing network of skilled professionals gives Cowboy a robust foundation to seamlessly integrate and sustain the On-Demand repair services. This provides an excellent alternative to those who are not Cowboy Care subscribers and those seeking help on their doorstep.”
