Shared e-scooters will have their speeds limited to 10km/h across Paris from the middle of December, the city announced last week.

Initially, a 10k/h speed limit was set to be introduced across 700 zones throughout the city, but those plans have now been extended.

The limit will apply to shared e-scooters across the entirety of Paris, barring a few streets where wide bike lanes are already in place. The 10km/h restriction will not apply to private e-scooters.

Lime, Dott and TIER currently operate shared schemes in the city, with around 10,000 vehicles available for hire in total.
