Micromobility operator Dott has reported a rapid rise in use of its e-scooters and e-bikes in the UK, with total rides up 75% in Q2 2022 compared to Q1.
The number of new riders increased by 100% in Q2 compared to the first quarter, while e-bike rides have increased by 500% since the start of the year.
“Of all our markets, the UK has one of the highest growth rates this quarter in both total rides and new riders,” Dott’s General Manager for UK and Ireland Duncan Robertson told Zag Daily.
“This shift shows that our e-scooters and e-bikes are being used on a more regular basis, becoming an everyday solution for people to get around their city in the most seamless and efficient way.”
Dott has also seen a significant increase in the use of its vehicles across Europe too.
Total rides increased by 73% in Q2 2022 compared to the first quarter, up by 192% year-on-year.
Across the board, the number of new riders with Dott more than doubled (116%) between April-June compared to the first three months of the year.
Some of the most popular reasons given by new riders for trying the service were to save time (58%), being fun to ride (53%) and easy to use and readily available (52%).
E-bike rides are also up 180% in total across Europe since the start of the year.
Throughout 2022, Dott has been expanding into new markets including the Netherlands and Israel. Most recently, the operator won an exclusive tender to deploy e-bikes and e-scooters in Grenoble, France.
