LYNEports, an advanced air mobility vertiport planner, has won Aerospace Xelerated’s startup pitch competition at this year’s Farnborough International Airshow.

The prize includes £5,000 plus six months mentorship from the AX team as well as exclusive exhibition space for the 2026 Farnborough Airshow to help grow their business.

The Romanian-based startup is on a mission to transform urban air mobility by providing innovative SaaS solutions for the planning, design and operation of vertiports for eVTOL and drone landings.

Users are able to create a digital twin of their network, approach funnels for flight obstacle assessment, run geospatial location simulations, customise take-off and landing areas and the software is responsive to regulatory updates.

Rasha Alshami, the founder and former vertiport design architect at Lilium, told Zag Daily after winning the prize: “The question we have to ask is where and how do we land these new eVTOLs in a safe and sustainable way? That’s how the idea of LYNEports came about. We want to merge the airspace and groundspace under one umbrella for the first time through a digital twin that has all the data needed to find and identify potential vertiport sites.

“Aviation has been a closed sector rarely open to other industries. Whether you’re an architect, urban planner, real estate or a vertiport developer, we want to bring everyone together for the next generation of travel.”

Rasha said she would use the money to further develop their software solution. “Specifically, we will integrate the photo realistic maps and flight simulations so that they will be available across the world.”

Meet the five other finalists

All the startups shortlisted were selected because they represent the cutting-edge of aerospace technology and innovation.

Eddytec

Eddytec develops a hardware and software solution to make maintenance and quality control of carbon fibre composite parts in planes faster, easier and more affordable. The Dutch company came runner up and won £2,500 and three months mentorship.

Estuaire

Estuaire offers a comprehensive flight data analytics platform designed to help airlines and airports minimise CO2 and non-CO2 emissions cost-effectively.

Flux Aviation

Flux Aviation is developing battery electric propulsion systems to power next-generation electric aircraft – from 2-seat trainer aircraft up to 50-seat regional airliners.

OneGrab

OneGrab helps airlines give passengers a more convenient and healthy food & beverage offer that’s supplied from cloud kitchens at airports.

Sora Aviation

Sora Aviation is developing a completely new mode of transportation, based on ‘bus’ sized eVTOLs, primarily aimed at transporting people to and from the airport.
