UrbanLink Air Mobility has partnered with Belfast-based seaborne manufacturer Artemis Technologies to integrate zero-emission luxury water taxis into its eVTOL route network.

The South Florida-based advanced air mobility operator is to purchase 20 Artemis EF-12 Escape Crafts to operate in Florida, California and the Caribbean, and it may also operate Artermis’ larger EF-24 Passenger Ferry in the future.

UrbanLink is to launch its sea craft service in Q1 2026, with the electric seaborne vehicles deployed along both of Florida’s coasts, serving routes from San Juan and Puerto Rico as well as inter-island routes.

“Many passengers in our survey said they’d prefer to travel by sea down to Florida Keys and up to Palm Beach from Miami. We will bring them to our embarkation points by eVTOL for onward journey by sea craft,” UrbanLink Air Mobility Founder Ed Wegel told Zag Daily.

“Our initial deliveries will be for 12-passenger vehicles and then eventually 24-passenger vehicles. We will be transporting passengers flying into Miami International Airport, as well as local passengers who commute back and forth.”

UrbanLink will fly passengers to its vertiport in PortMiami and Port Fort Lauderdale by eVTOL, and then transport them down to Palm Beach or Florida Keys using the Artemis sea craft.

The EF-12 is propelled by Artemis’ eFoiler electric propulsion system which aims to reduce fuel costs by 90%. It has a top speed of 30 knots and reduces wake to protect coral life and conserve shorelines.

UrbanLink’s partnership with Artemis comes shortly after it partnered with Ferrovial Vertiports to develop a vertiport network in South Florida for its Lilium eVTOL jets.
