Indian private airline JetSetGo has partnered with Brazil-based Eve Air Mobility to explore the use of Eve’s Urban Air Traffic Management (UATM) software solution in India.
Eve’s agnostic UATM software called Vector aims to improve the safety and efficiency of eVTOL operations, targeting air navigation service providers, urban authorities, fleet and vertiport operators, as well as other stakeholders.
JetSetGo, which recently finalised a non-binding Letter of Intent for the pre-order of up to 50 electric multicopters from Japan-based SkyDrive, aims to integrate Vector into its future eVTOL operations.
“Eve Air Mobility’s advanced Urban Air Traffic Management solution Vector provides the crucial technological infrastructure to safely integrate next-generation aircraft into India’s airspace,” said JetSetGo’s Chief Strategy Officer Jonathan Sumner.
“This collaboration will further assist in tackling multiple challenges like reducing environmental impact through zero-emission aircraft, creating more accessible transportation options, and developing comprehensive mobility infrastructure.
“By engaging with aviation authorities like the Directorate General of Civil Aviation and Airports Authority of India, JetSetGo is actively shaping regulatory frameworks for AAM.”
Vector’s capabilities span urban air mobility flight coordination, vertiport automation airside support, airspace flow management, and conformance management.
The partnership – which is Eve’s 14th customer for Vector and second customer in India – aims to create operational frameworks and infrastructure solutions to integrate eVTOL into the Indian airspace at scale.
JetSetGo will work with Eve to promote urban air mobility across the country and strengthen India’s position in the global aviation landscape.
“By developing the urban air traffic management solution, Eve Air Mobility and JetSetGo are laying the groundwork for a transformative approach to air mobility,” Jonathan said.
“Their work will be crucial in ensuring that eVTOL aircraft can be seamlessly and safely incorporated into India’s growing urban transportation ecosystem, with a particular focus on creating scalable, sustainable solutions for short-distance, intra-city travel.”
In other mobility news for India, a joint report from Google and Boston Consulting Group recently predicted that India’s overall mobility market will surpass $600 billion by 2030.
