Aria Hotels, part of the Logothetis Group, is planning to introduce eVTOL aircraft to Greece by summer 2026.

This move aims to improve travel for guests staying at its properties, particularly in hard-to-reach destinations across the mainland and islands.

The hotel group will operate 10 Alia-250 eVTOLs developed by American company Beta Technologies. The aircraft can carry five passengers and a pilot, cover 250 nautical miles on a single charge, and recharge in under an hour. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) recently approved pilot training for the Alia-250.

“We are working closely with the Aria Hotels team – including some on-site visits to Beta – as we start to work on the next phase of implementation. This will include aircraft operations and infrastructure installation to make sure their first locations are ready for service launch,” a Beta Technologies spokesperson said.

Beta Technologies noted the potential of its charging infrastructure to benefit not only Aria Hotels but also other users of electric aviation and ground vehicles. “The charging infrastructure we’ve designed is multimodal and interoperable, meaning it will support the overwhelming majority of Advanced Air Mobility aircraft and ground EVs,” the spokesperson added.

Aria Hotels will build and operate four vertiports, including in Athens and other key locations, to support this new mode of transport.

The eVTOLs aim to significantly reduce travel times, for example by transporting passengers from Athens to Kimolos in 45 minutes rather than the current seven hours. A one-way eVTOL trip is expected to cost around €750.

Aria Hotels is incorporating eVTOL travel into its hospitality operations, with plans for landing sites at select properties, such as Kipi Suites in Zagori. The company is also exploring the use of conventional electric aircraft for destinations with existing airports.

Aria Hotels has already invested €50 million in aircraft and infrastructure to bring this project to life.
