Voi has partnered with the West Midlands Fire Service by offering thousands of free e-scooter rides to all firefighters participating at the UKRO Festival of Rescue 2022.
As the official sustainability transport partner, Voi is also offering spectators 50% off all three Day Passes to help them travel over the entirety of the event using the voucher code UKRO.
From 30 September – 01 October, hundreds of firefighters from across the UK will compete in a range of rescue skills – including rope rescue and cutting people out of crashed vehicles – at Smithfield in Birmingham.
Voi has teamed up with the event’s organisers, the West Midlands Fire Service, to help decarbonise thousands of journeys to and from the two-day event.
The e-scooter company will also have a dedicated stand and test track in the main festival space at Smithfield for those wanting to give Voi e-scooters a try. Riders unfamiliar with e-scooters can join a taster session and receive a free helmet and discounts.
“Our success at the Commonwealth Games has shown us that there is a demand to access a mode of transport which is convenient, reliable and sustainable during major sporting and cultural events,” Voi’s Senior Policy Manager for UK and Ireland, Sam Pooke, told Zag Daily.
“Becoming the official sustainable transport partner for the UKRO Festival of Rescue 2022 is an opportunity for our e-scooter service to take the next evolutionary step, not only making it the main transport option instead of the car, but also showcasing to people that adopting micromobility can be the ‘norm’ for getting around in their daily lives.”
