Micromobility operator Voi has teamed up with long-distance coach provider FlixBus to offer city-hoppers discounted e-scooter rides when exploring cities across Germany and the UK.

The two firms offer a complementary service allowing people to discover nearly 30 towns and cities.

“Whether looking to visit the famed Brandenburg Gate or Reichstag Building in Berlin, trying the perfect German beer or Rouladen, seeing Banksy’s street art in Bristol, or visiting Liverpool’s waterfront, this new partnership offers an opportunity to explore cities sustainably and on a budget,” said Voi.

When making a booking on Flix’s website, Voi riders can get 15 minutes of free rides, while existing Voi-agers can get 15% off a Daily Pass.

Any Voi riders in Germany will receive 10% off their FlixBus and FlixTrain journey, and riders in the UK will receive 10% off their FlixBus journey.

“City-hopping by car or flying has a detrimental impact on the environment as emissions from transport remain stubbornly high in the UK,” Voi’s Head of Marketing Caroline Hjelm told Zag Daily.

“This partnership between FlixBus and Voi is a first step in exploring a broader collaboration that encourages lifestyle changes in how people get around by making hopping aboard a bus or on an e-scooter more convenient and affordable to minimise the impact on the places they live and visit.

“We know tourism is an important part of the local economy in many places we operate in and therefore look to build successful partnerships which help the industry adopt sustainable travel and achieve our wider sustainability goals.”

Xiaoxiao Milz-Chen, CSR and Sustainability Expert at FlixBus, added: “We are investing a lot of effort and resources in different alternative drive technologies, and this partnership gets us one step closer to a greener future.”
