Three light electric vehicle companies to join forces

A new French umbrella company will launch tomorrow which unites light electric vehicle companies Kate, eClassic Cars and soon to be Swincar.

Branded ‘Panorama-Venture’, the official acquisition will form during the Rétromobile Show in Porte de Versaille. Here, the new player will open its order list for its eFourgonnette compact electric utility vehicle with 25 vehicles available to pre-order for 2025 delivery.

The purpose of the leisure mobility brand Panorama-Venture is to share the skills, competencies and resources of the three niche electric vehicle companies to reduce costs.

“Our mission is to maximise the production volume of these vehicles, as the production volume of niche electric vehicles is low compared with major automotive companies. By sharing resources, we can mutualise our investment to reduce the price of our parts and business costs,” Panorama-Venture General Manager Paul Quéveau told Zag Daily.

Mr Quéveau said that Kate’s vehicles already share the same engine as those from eClassic Cars and the entity aims to soon have them sharing the same battery too.

As well as material costs, savings are also anticipated for other areas of the business. For example, engineering and marketing costs are hoped to be reduced as well as those associated with each individual company exhibiting their vehicles separately at international events.

“This is also a good move for market power. If you’re part of a group, you appear stronger than if you are alone. Under this single ‘Made in France’ entity, these brands are part of a group with a clear strategy of cost reduction.”

Launching tomorrow, Panorama-Venture’s eFourgonnette vehicle combines the competencies of Kate and eClassic Cars, with the vehicle platform taken from the former and the body design inspired by the latter.

Once the order list opens, the first 25 pre-orders will be delivered in 2025 with all remaining orders to be delivered in 2026.

The acquisition of Kate and eClassic Cars has been finalised with Swincar to be complete next week.
