The Advanced Propulsion Centre UK (APC) and Zenzic have launched Mobilise, a new accelerator programme targeting UK-based start-ups and SMEs working on zero-emission and connected and automated mobility (CAM) technologies.
The initiative builds on the success of the APC’s Technology Developer Accelerator Programme and Zenzic’s CAM Scale-Up UK, combining their strengths to help early-stage businesses overcome hurdles to investment and market readiness.
Grant funding of up to £180,000 is available with the opportunity to apply for further booster funding of £75,000. Businesses will receive coaching, access to world-class testing facilities through Zenzic’s CAM Testbed UK network, and tailored guidance from industry and investment mentors.
Josh Denne, Head of Product at APC, described Mobilise as a comprehensive solution to the unique challenges faced by mobility innovators.
“For all Start-ups and SMEs developing new products, the initial stage of execution involves a parallel focus on developing a new product, developing a solid commercial strategy and business model, achieving real customer interest, gaining investment and setting up the venture for future growth. For companies targeting the mobility market these challenges are particularly acute,” he said.
Denne emphasised the importance of a strong start: “Picking the right commercial starting point is vital for future success. Mobilise helps companies identify accessible early adopters and develop a clear roadmap to impact and growth.”
The APC and Zenzic have already supported over 100 businesses through previous accelerator programmes. These companies have collectively raised more than £380 million in private investment.
Mobilise is open to UK-based micro, small, and medium-sized companies working on zero-emission or CAM technologies that have demonstrated at least the feasibility of their concepts.
The 18-month programme aims to turn these early-stage innovators into investment-ready companies, accelerating the development of sustainable and autonomous mobility solutions.
