Shared e-bike operator HumanForest has launched the “TreeCoin Loyalty Programme” in London which allows riders to earn extra free minutes.
Riders earn TreeCoins based on the number of miles they complete on shared HumanForest e-bikes, which can then be exchanged for minutes.
For every five miles ridden, users earn on TreeCoin, which equates to one extra minute of free riding.
The scheme has been developed with European gamification software provider StriveCloud, with app users offered 10 free TreeCoins to celebrate the launch.
The micromobility provider currently has a fleet of 800 rental e-bikes in London, which it relaunched in September 2021.
HumanForest raised £2.3 million in its pre-series A funding round, bringing its valuation to £32 million up from £10.2 million at the seed stage.
“TreeCoins are not just a reward for HumanForest users, they are a form of education,” said Co-Founder Michael Stewart.
“We want every Londoner to know the positive impact they can have on our city.”
Freek Borghgraef of StriveCloud added: “I love how this collaboration helps HumanForest users see their actual positive impact on the environment by using the app.”
