Energy firm GRIDSERVE has opened the UK’s first educational bike display at an Electric Forecourt in partnership with Smile Bikes and Raleigh

This new partnership adds to an already comprehensive EV experience at Norwich Electric Forecourt, where visitors can learn about a more sustainable future, test drive electric vehicles and now ride an e-bike from British bicycle brand Raleigh.

“Partnering with Smile Bikes and GRIDSERVE is a new and exciting way to put electric bikes in front of a wider audience,” Lee Kidger, Managing Director of Raleigh, told Zag.

“Our aim is to work together to enable more people to experience the joy of electric bikes, helping them to make more sustainable transport choices. The Electric Forecourt is an innovative step for the future of urban mobility and we’re delighted to be a part of it.”

Raleigh has been in discussions with GRIDSERVE for over a year before the concept began to take shape.

With the huge growth in electric vehicles, it was a natural fit for the two brands as they both focus on using renewable energy to power the growth of e-mobility.

Since opening in April 2022, Norfolk has seen an uptake in EV registrations, growing by almost 50% – ahead of the UK average.

Gridserve and Raleigh are hoping to see the same uptake with two wheels now as well.

During demo events it will be possible to test ride Raleigh e-bikes like the Motus, Centros and Trace.

Consumers interested in learning more about the partnership are invited to join the opening on 15 July at the Norwich Electric Forecourt with e-bike test rides available.
