British e-scooter brand Pure Electric has teamed up with F1 team McLaren to release a special edition e-scooter as part of the retailer’s most exclusive collaboration yet.
Inspired by the Brazilian McLaren driver Ayrton Senna, the Senna Special Edition e-scooter aims to bring F1-level design and performance to urban travel with a maximum speed of 25 kilometres per hour and three different speed modes.
The collaboration announcement comes a week after Lando Norris, son of Pure Electric Founder Adam Norris, won his first Formula 1 race in Miami.
“After Lando’s first win with McLaren, this collaboration is something that I am incredibly proud of. Ayrton Senna was my childhood hero and I feel very honoured to be a part of celebrating Senna’s incredible legacy,” Pure Electric Founder Adam Norris said.
“The team have taken F1 inspired principles to build the world’s best e-scooter. I am very proud of this collaboration between PURE, McLaren, and the Senna Foundation.”
The Senna Special Edition adopts Pure’s staple forward-facing stance, folding handlebars and foot pads, and has a range of 31 miles.
A 710-watt motor offers strong hill climbing and acceleration capabilities, along with 10 inch puncture-resistant tyres and an IP65 rating provides full waterproof protection.
Founded in 2018, Pure Electric already has over 230,000 e-scooters distributed around the globe and is present in 800 retail outlets. The latest Senna Special Edition e-scooter will be available to buy on 24 May.
