Netherlands-based e-cargo bike operator DOCKR announced it had partnered with grocery delivery service Gorillas this week.
The collaboration will be rolled out in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, with Gorillas couriers set to use DOCKR e-cargo bikes to carry more deliveries at once.
DOCKR offers flexible contracts for a fixed amount per month and will support Gorillas in its expansion efforts.
The grocery app is currently available in Germany, France, Italy, the US, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, the UK, and Denmark.
Following the announcement, DOCKR managing director Nadine van der Hoorn said: “Because of upcoming regulations regarding CO2 emissions in most cities, companies feel the pressure of looking for alternatives to their polluting vans.
“DOCKR allows them to operate in a more sustainable and easier way in a better way but without a large investment upfront.
“And most importantly, DOCKR is on a mission to set the new norm for inner-city delivery and service.”
Founded in 2018, DOCKR’s subscription service supports companies manage their last-mile solutions
It also provides on-site maintenance and will swap out broken vehicles with new ones.
