Here’s another scalp for plucky underdogs in the battle to win shared e-scooter trials. New-kid-on-the-block Zipp Mobility has been hired by Somerset West and Taunton Council to run a 12-month pilot in Taunton.
The trial is due to get started later this month. Prior to that, Zipp will be holding training sessions this Friday and Saturday and giving away free helmets.
No details yet have been released about fleet size, rental fees or geographic area, although Zipp has promised to create four local jobs.
Zipp is a Dublin start-up based at University College Dublin. Former Ireland rugby union captain Brian O’Driscoll is an investor.
