Neuron offers free monthly passes to Slough key workers

From today, NHS and emergency services staff will be able to access a free monthly pass to ride Neuron e-scooters in Slough.

The move echoes what’s happening elsewhere in the country, with e-scooter fleet operators keen to support key workers as England locks down again.

Under the free pass, riders can take as many rides as they like but may only use e-scooters for a total of 90mins each day. In Slough, Neuron’s operating hours are 24 hours a day, seven days a week, which means that e-scooters really could make a big difference to frontline shift-workers who do not have the option to work from home.

Accessing the pass is really easy. A user simply needs to log in to the Neuron app, visit the “rates and passes” page and verify their work email address. That’s it. Zero faff.

Zachary Wang, Neuron chief exec, said: “We want to show our sincere gratitude to Slough’s NHS and emergency services staff as they continue to travel to work every day to care for people, while many of us have the option to work from home.”

The company’s operating team will also reposition scooters to make sure they’re as accessible as possible to frontline workers. Well, there’s one silver lining to lockdown.
