Mobility data platform Vianova has partnered with Brisbane City Council to enhance the management of shared micromobility using its data-aggregation services.
Brisbane City Council will use Vianova’s platform to monitor compliance with programme regulations, improve parking compliance, and integrate shared mobility with public transport.
The partnership is hoped to help the Australian city shape its sustainable transport infrastructure before it hosts the first climate-positive Olympics in 2032.
“At Vianova, we are committed to ensuring transparency and accountability in urban mobility,” Vianova CEO and Co-founder Thibault Castagne told Zag Daily.
“I am proud to partner with Brisbane to enhance their micromobility ecosystem. Our platform ensures that all operators adhere to the city’s regulations by verifying critical data, tracking key performance indicators, and enforcing compliance. Together, we are committed to making Brisbane a safer, more efficient, and sustainable city for all.”
The partnership will focus on two key areas: regulation monitoring and data-driven decision making.
For regulation monitoring, Brisbane City Council will use Vianova’s real-time insights to monitor the compliance of micromobility operators with city regulations, and ensure that fleet sizes and parking practices are aligned with the city’s goals. Vianova will enhance parking compliance and safety using Bluetooth beacon technology – wireless transmitters that send universally unique identifiers to operating systems.
For data-driven decision making, Vianova will provide data insights to inform how Brisbane City Council can integrate shared mobility with other sustainable transport options and improve the city transport network’s overall efficiency.
“By providing a reliable check on operators’ KPIs and data, we empower cities like Brisbane to make informed, data-driven decisions that improve safety, efficiency, and sustainability in transportation. This partnership represents a key step towards creating smarter, more resilient urban mobility solutions.”
The partnership comes less than a year after Vianova was hired by the City of Berlin to resolve its most pressing micromobility challenges.
