Victoria Adams has joined Bird.
Adams moves from PR firm Nudge Factory, where she was leading the all-party parliamentary group designed to educate members of parliament about micromobility.
Today, she takes up post as Bird’s new UK public policy chief, responsible for strengthening ties between the scooter operator and local and central government. Given Adams’ previous Westminster-facing role, this seems like a winning move by Bird for its frontline lobbying position.
The US operator has been very quiet when it comes to UK e-scooter trials thus far. This is surprising for a firm that has been running the only legal shared scooter programme in the UK since 2018, at the Olympic Park.
The fact that the Silicon Valley firm has opted to strengthen its policy division by hiring Adams at this critical time for securing UK contracts may signal news coming soon.
