Micromobility operators Bolt, Lime and Zeus have launched several measures to support Ukraine in the wake of the countries invasion by Russia.
Bolt says it will donate more than €5 million over the next two weeks to support the people of Ukraine, with the first €1 million sent yesterday.
The Estonian operator is donating five per cent of every order in Europe to Ukrainian NGOs, including the Red Cross.
As part of a new set of commitments announced by CEO Markus Villig on Tuesday, the firm pledged to remove products produced in Russia or associated with Russian companies from Bolts Market, and suspended all operations in Belarus.
Irish electric scooter company Zeus announced that it donated all its unlock fees globally yesterday to the International Red Cross and matched the funding.
Lime is showing its support for Ukraine by donating to organisations supplying direct aid to refugees.
“Through donations from our team, we will support vetted organizations providing medical assistance, food, shelter and relief to displaced people,” said Lime’s CEO Wayne Ting.
The operator will encourage its riders to donate to organisations making an impact on the ground via its app.
In Poland, where refugees are arriving to escape the war, Lime is offering two free rides for anyone in major Polish cities travelling to donate blood.
It has also partnered with Polish Humanitarian Action, which supports people affected by the conflict, both in and outside of Ukraine, with basic necessities, including food, blankets and medical care.
