Shared micromobility operator TIER has completed the acquisition of Vento Mobility Srl, the Italian subsidiary of Wind Mobility.
TIER e-scooters are now available on the streets of Bari and Palermo with other Italian cities set to follow in the coming weeks.
The Berlin-based company is already present in more than 165 cities in 18 countries and plans to expand further in 2022.
Bari and Palermo in the south of Italy will be the first cities to offer the latest generation of TIER scooters, which include an integrated helmet, turn signals on the handlebar and rear wing, as well as a large front wheel and triple brakes.
TIER acquired bikeshare operator nextbike last month and is now valued at $2 billion following a recent funding round that secured the firm $200 million.

Wind Mobility first entered Italy with the launch of its operation in Milan in February 2020 and was managing a fleet of 4,500 e-scooters across 11 towns and cities in the country.
