Micromobility company Helbiz has had its e-scooter approved for UK trials.
New York-headquartered but Italian-founded, Helbiz offers both shared e-scooters and e-bikes across 18 cities in the US, Italy, Spain, France and Serbia.
Its UK-approved model is made by Segway-Ninebot, so is likely to be identical to the Max G30 already seeing service in Ginger livery across Tees Valley.
“The UK remains an important region for Helbiz to operate in, and we’re committed to partnering with local authorities to offer an affordable and environmentally sustainable last mile transportation alternative,” said company founder and boss, Salvatore Palella.
