Zag Daily named WMG’s media partner for Micromobility UK 2024

Zag Daily is proud to announce that we have partnered with WMG at the University of Warwick to showcase the fourth edition of the UK’s only in-person, dedicated micromobility Expo – Micromobility UK 2024.

The free-to-attend event will return to the university campus on 18 September, this time at the much bigger Oculus center. Sponsoring the event is UK bank NatWest.

This ecosystem includes everything from e-scooters, e-bikes and cargo bikes, to novel last mile delivery vehicles, the electrification of L-category mopeds, motorbikes, trikes and microcars.

Packed with panel discussions, workshops and roundtables, WMG will cover a huge array of topics including: battery safety, barriers to demand, supply chain opportunities, and the last-mile evolution.

And what are attendees set to leave with?

“Positivity about the future of our industry – micromobility is going to play a crucial role in the UK’s urban transport system,” WMG Marketing Manager Charlie Ward told Zag Daily.

“The demand is there if we can come together to overcome barriers like outdated regulation, safety, accessibility and convenience. I have high hopes that UK policy is able to keep up with the rest of Europe, and we can adapt our towns and cities to make space for these zero emission, people-focused transportation options.”

Previous editions of the event have seen transport ministers, national government departments, logistics operators, local authorities, investors and manufacturers all attend with open minds and a passion for zero-emission transport, and WMG is gearing up for an even more thought-provoking session this year.

“We don’t want to be misinterpreted. We’re not anti-cars, we’re pro the variety of transport. And we see micromobility as being part of the full range of options in the transport landscape.”

NatWest Mobility and Logistics Sector Head Richard Hill said: “Micromobility in all its forms, from personal e-scooters to e-cargo modes of transport, is a critical element of a rapidly transitioning mobility system.

“This event is important in bringing together a broad spectrum of organisations, public and private, where leading insight will be shared in terms of the role micromobility plays in the current and future movement of people and freight.

“Meet some of the NatWest Entrepreneur Accelerator entrepreneurs, who can tell you all about the programme and how alongside WMG we support businesses develop products and services that will help the UK achieve its net zero goals. That’s why NatWest is continuing to support WMG with its trailblazing activities in this space.”

Attendees will have the opportunity to ride some of the latest micromobility vehicles on a Campus Test Route, and enjoy a buffet lunch over networking.

“Micromobility UK brings together the whole industry to showcase its importance and relevance to the future of urban transportation,” Charlie said.

“Whether you’ve got exciting new developments to shout about, or you want to learn more about how bikes, e-bikes, scooters and other small vehicles can decarbonise, decongest and level up transport – this is the event for you.”

Commenting on the partnership, Zag Daily’s Editor Ben Hubbard, said: “You only have to look at the calibre of sustainable last mile delivery players to see just how much of a hub the UK is becoming for micromobility innovation. We’re super proud to be partnering with the team at WMG to spotlight this at the UK’s only live micromobility event.”
