Ovo Bikes, powered by nextbike, has today announced a new ‘Free Ride Tuesdays’ initiative encouraging users to travel on two wheels for free once a week.

Users will be able to take repeat 20 minute free rides between stations in Glasgow and Cardiff until the autumn.

Ovo’s bikes and e-bikes in Glasgow will also be free for the duration of the UCI Cycling World Championships taking place between 03 – 11 August this year.

Benjamin Bell, Senior Director at Tier, told Zag: “The quality of the product and the demand for our service means the opportunity for nextbike by Tier across the UK is immense.

“We’re delighted to have introduced ‘Free Ride Tuesdays’ in Glasgow and Cardiff to encourage more people to give cycling a try and experience for themselves the benefits of green, sustainable city transport. We expect that this initiative, in combination with the UCI Cycling World Championships, will inspire people to get on their bikes and transform their commutes.”

Voi is offering new riders an hour’s worth of free rides in two 30 minute slots, while existing riders can get £10 worth of rides for themselves and a friend.

Look out for the ‘door hanger’ adverts appearing on Voi e-scooters where it operates which is in Bristol, Bath, Cambridge, Liverpool, Northampton, Kettering, Wellingborough, Corby, Rushden & Higham Ferrers, Oxford, Portsmouth and Southampton.

Zipp and Zwings, which are owned by Zeus Scooters, is offering a commuter pass from Monday to Thursday for £4.99 that gets two 15-minute rides. Its return ticket pass is £5.99 and gets two 12-minute rides any time of the week.

Their locations are Cheltenham, Gloucester, High Wycombe, Aylesbury, Princes Risborough, Yeovil, Taunton, Minehead, Barnstaple.

“Here at Zeus we are aware that summer can be a very expensive time with holidays and day to day life so we like to ensure we maintain affordable transport options for our customer base,” Christopher Kemp, COO at Zeus told Zag.

“Our customers have welcomed these new offers and we are seeing high volumes of uptake. We are regularly reviewing what more we can do over the summer to provide benefits to our user base.”
