Autonomy Mobility World Expo (AMWE) opens its gates tomorrow for the world’s largest annual gathering of international policymakers, institutions, NGOs, corporations, companies, and start-ups focused on sustainable urban mobility solutions.
Here are three events not to be missed at the two-day summit.
City Voice conference
On the Main Stage from 10-11am on Wednesday 22 March, the POLIS Network will host a panel dubbed ‘Without a Just Transition… there just won’t be a transition!’
Urban mobility must change substantively, to become cleaner and more resilient. Affordability, accessibility, and inclusivity must be at the heart of the mobility transition, to ensure it is fair and beneficial to all. However, a major question remains: how to measure or evaluate accessibility?
This panel seeks to understand what constitutes accessible and affordable transport and how building a more diverse transport workforce, from depot to boardroom, will accelerate this process.
On the panel will be Nick Fairclough, Transport for Greater Manchester; Huub Hoenjet, Amsterdam Vervoerregio; and François Hoehlinger, Troopy.
Startup challenge
Designed to reward startups which present innovations that transform the new mobility sector, the startup challenge on March 22 from 1:30-3pm is open to companies under seven years old. Startups will present projects, products, solutions, ideas or prototypes focused on one of the seven sectorial themes of the mobility ecosystem.
These are smart mobility cities, mass transit tech, shared mobility, e-mobility, fleet services, urban logistics and autonomous vehicles.
Innovation awards
The awards ceremony on March 23 at 4:45-5:30pm honour new innovations that transform the mobility sector. It is open to all companies presenting projects, products, solutions, ideas or prototypes focused on one of the seven sectorial themes.
“Autonomy Mobility World Expo is the perfect place to meet all the actors of this mobility ecosystem,” Ross Douglas, Founder and CEO of Autonomy, told Zag Daily.
“Our 2023 programme includes a large number of conferences, notably City Voices. Co-organised with POLIS Network for the 4th consecutive year, this conference allows cities to discuss their challenges, achievements and best practices. We are very excited to finally be able to welcome our visitors in Paris.”
Autonomy is located at Paris Porte de Versailles Exhibition Center and is open from 9am-6pm both days.
