Dott has released a set of visuals showing how its micromobility vehicles can help transform Europe’s capital cities into spaces that focus on people rather than cars.
The designs have been created to coincide with EU Mobility Week, which takes place from 16-22 September and incorporates World Car Free Day on 22 September.
“EU Mobility Week, featuring Car Free Days in many of our cities, seemed a great opportunity to think about an alternative vision of public spaces,” Dott’s Co-Founder and CEO Henri Moissinac told Zag Daily.
“We’ve created these visuals, set in some of Europe’s capitals, to spark debate and as inspiration for how we could use our streets differently if they were free from cars.”
The images feature a range of ideas designed to improve city living.
Throughout all graphics, e-scooters and e-bikes are integrated in a responsible way to respect city residents. There are allocated parking bays close to public transport hubs and separate cycle lanes for the different micromobility modes.
London
In London, Dott has introduced shaded spaces in response to this summer’s record temperatures, as well as an integrated performance space, planted greenery and public information screens.
Rome
Dott has created an open air public cafe in Rome to admire the famous architecture from shaded areas, planting and greenery.
Paris
Paris has a screen showing the interior of the Opera house, public seating and use of paving and turf.
Brussels
The Brussels visual features public art and sculpture, open air markets, shops and cafes, and floral displays in reference to Brussels Flower Carpet.
A London user survey conducted by Dott in June 2022 found that riders believe their choices can positively impact the city, with nearly half (41%) saying their main motivator for using e-scooters is to reduce congestion. Around one third (32%) say they would travel with micromobility more frequently if safer infrastructure was made available.
