Archer Aviation has unveiled plans for a regional air taxi network across South Florida.
The network would link Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton and West Palm Beach with 10 to 20 minute electric flights.
Archer says the system would also connect the region’s three major airports of Miami, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood and Palm Beach, alongside several general aviation airports.
The announcement centres on a series of partnerships with property developers and major venues to prepare existing helipads for electric operations and build new vertiports. Zag Daily confirmed with Archer that every planned site is backed by an executed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), though the agreements have not been published and their terms remain undisclosed.
Related Ross intends to develop a new vertiport at its downtown West Palm Beach project, creating what it describes as a “premium mobility hub”. Hard Rock Stadium and Apogee Golf Club will open their existing helipads for Archer’s use, while Dragon Global’s Magic City Innovation District in Miami’s Little Haiti plans to host a purpose-built vertiport as part of its wider technology and innovation precinct.
Archer said it is working closely with local and federal regulators but has not specified which approvals are underway or when they are expected. The company also declined to share any financial details of its infrastructure partnerships.
Miami Mayor Francis Suarez called the initiative an example of the city “embracing breakthrough technology”, while Related Ross Chairman Stephen Ross said integrating Archer’s aircraft into its locations would expand South Florida’s regional connectivity.
Midnight, Archer’s piloted eVTOL aircraft, is designed to carry four passengers and operate frequent short hops with minimal charging downtime. The company says it can cut 60 to 90 minute car journeys down to 10 to 20 minutes but is yet to provide expected pricing or service frequency.
