Free Now unveils new mobility benefits card for businesses

Mobility super app Free Now has launched a virtual prepaid card allowing companies to offer their employees a mobility budget to cover the cost of any private or commuting travel.

Employees can use all available transport options shown in the Free Now app, including e-scooters with Dott, Tier and Voi, or any other transport option that allows contactless payment.

This means the budget can be spent on any travel options, including public transport tickets, bikes and car rentals, even if the service is booked outside the Free Now app.

Business clients can retain oversight and control over the budgeting of their employee benefit plans, while still investing in the private mobility of their employees.

Free Now’s Vice-President of Sales Valentin Naidja told Zag Daily that micromobility solutions are an increasingly popular choice for workers, especially as they look to use more environmentally friendly modes of transport.

“Our Mobility Benefits report shows that alternative transport such as e-scooters and bikes are set to grow in popularity over the next three years, so it is important that we adapt to this change and support the shift to more sustainable transport solutions wherever possible,” said Naidja.

“With this new product, we’re responding to the needs of HR professionals and their employees to encourage a diverse range of transport options that align with the future of work, the need to reach sustainability goals and the acknowledgment that we all have different mobility needs.”

Now the mobility budget provided as a benefit by the employer can also be spent abroad, facilitating the needs of businesses with international growth.

The new payment card is available to all Free Now for Business clients in the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain, and will be expanding to further countries in early 2023.
